Product Sorting

Give shoppers control over how products are ordered — by price, name, date, popularity, or custom criteria. Fully configurable sort options.

Overview

The Product Sorting widget renders a dropdown control that lets customers change the order in which products are displayed in the Product Grid or Product Table on the same page. Sort options are applied dynamically from the Goose Commerce product database without a page reload.

How to Add It

  1. Open the Elementor editor on your Shop or Category Archive page.
  2. Search for Product Sorting in the widget panel.
  3. Drag it onto the canvas above the product grid.
  4. Choose which sort options to expose and set the default selection.
Note: This widget must be placed on the same page as a Product Grid or Product Table widget to have any effect.

Common Use Cases

Place the Product Sorting widget in a toolbar row above the Product Grid, alongside Product Filters, for a complete shop browsing toolbar. Use Segmented Buttons style for a compact sort bar when only two or three options are offered. Set the default to Best Selling on promotional pages to surface popular products first.

Tips & Notes

Tip: Limit sort options to the most useful choices for your catalogue — too many options can overwhelm shoppers.
Note: Sort state is not persisted between page loads. Customers return to the default sort order when they navigate away and come back.
