Taxonomy Header

Dynamic category and tag headers that automatically display the current taxonomy name, description, and product count.

Overview

The Taxonomy Header widget dynamically displays the name, description, and image of the current Goose Commerce category or tag being browsed. It is designed for use on Category Archive and Tag Archive pages to provide contextual headings that automatically update based on which taxonomy is being viewed.

How to Add It

  1. Open the Elementor editor on your Category Archive or Tag Archive page template.
  2. Search for Taxonomy Header in the widget panel.
  3. Drag it to the top of the page canvas above the Product Grid.
  4. Configure display options in the Content panel — content will populate dynamically from the current taxonomy.
Note: This widget is intended for archive page templates. Assign your Category Archive and Tag Archive pages in Goose → Settings → Pages.

Common Use Cases

Place the Taxonomy Header at the top of your Category Archive page template so each category page automatically shows the correct name and description. Use Image Position set to Background for a full-width hero banner effect. Enable Show Product Count in the header to give shoppers an immediate sense of catalogue depth within that category.

Tips & Notes

Tip: Add descriptions and images to your categories in Goose → Categories — these populate the Taxonomy Header automatically and improve the browsing experience.
Note: The Taxonomy Header reads context from the current archive URL. It will display placeholder content in the Elementor editor but renders live data on the frontend.
