Organise and classify your products with a flexible taxonomy system.
Goose Commerce provides three ways to classify your products: categories for hierarchical organisation, tags for flexible labelling, and attributes for defining filterable product properties.
Create categories from Goose → Categories. Categories are hierarchical — you can create parent categories (e.g. “Clothing”) and subcategories (e.g. “T-Shirts”). Assign one or more categories to each product from the product edit screen.
Tags are non-hierarchical labels that add flexible classification beyond categories. Create tags from Goose → Tags or directly on a product. Tags are displayed using the Product Tags Elementor widget and can be used in filtering and search.
Attributes define product properties such as Colour, Size, or Material. Create global attributes from Goose → Attributes, then add terms (e.g. Red, Blue, Green for a Colour attribute). Once created, attributes can be assigned to any product and used to build variations.
Products can also have custom, product-specific attributes that are not defined globally. Add these directly in the product edit screen under the Attributes panel. Custom attributes are displayed using the Custom Attributes Elementor widget (PRO).
