Account Suspension

Disable customer accounts when needed without losing their data or order history.

Occasionally you may need to disable a customer account — for example, in response to suspected fraud or a payment dispute. Goose Commerce lets you suspend accounts instantly from the customer record.

Suspending an Account

Open the customer record from Goose → Customers and click Suspend Account. The customer’s account is immediately disabled. They will see a notice on the login screen if they attempt to log in.

What Suspension Prevents

A suspended customer cannot: log in to their account, place new orders, access their download files, or view their order history. Any active sessions are terminated immediately on suspension.

Data Preservation

Suspension does not delete any customer data. Their order history, address book, download records, and wishlist are all preserved. If you reinstate the account later, everything is exactly as it was.

Reinstating an Account

To restore a suspended customer’s account, open their customer record and click Reinstate Account. They can log in immediately and their full history is restored.
