Customise address fields for each country you sell to.
Different countries have different address conventions. Goose Commerce lets you define the field order, field labels, and required fields for each country, ensuring customers see a checkout form that makes sense for their location.
When a customer enters their country at checkout or on their My Account page, Goose Commerce loads the address format for that country. Fields like State, County, Province, and Postcode are relabelled, shown, or hidden based on the country’s format.
Navigate to Goose → Settings → Address Formats and select a country to edit its format. You can: reorder fields by dragging, mark fields as required or optional, change field labels, and hide fields that are not relevant for that country.
Common address format changes include: hiding the State field for UK customers (where county is optional), making Postcode required for all countries, renaming Postcode to ZIP Code for US customers, and showing a specific set of states for countries with regional dropdowns (US, CA, AU).
Any country not individually configured will use the Default address format. Configure this as a sensible fallback for markets you have not explicitly set up.
